Who Can Apply?
This Romanian Government Scholarships is open to non-EU international students who meet the following criteria:
- Do not hold Romanian citizenship or have applied for protection in Romania
- Have an average score of at least 7 (Good) in their last graduated program
- Hold valid academic documents from accredited institutions
- Submit a complete application with all required documents
- Apply for eligible fields of study (excludes Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy)
Language of Study & Preparatory Year
The Romanian Government Scholarships are primarily offered in the Romanian language to encourage cultural immersion. However:
- Bachelor’s & Master’s: Only available in Romanian (Preparatory Year provided if needed)
- PhD: Available in Romanian or a foreign language (depending on the university)
Exemptions from the Preparatory Year
Candidates do not need to take the Romanian language course if they:
- Hold a Romanian language diploma
- Have completed at least 4 years of study in Romanian
- Pass a language test organized by the university
- Provide a B1-level Romanian language certificate
